Michael is ITGilde Professional #117, a Brit living in France who is glad to extend the coverage of ITGilde and to grow our respective networks.

Michael Bright is a freelance trainer, consultant based in Grenoble in the French alps. He has provided training courses and conference talks on various subjects including Kubernetes, Policy engines, Serverless and Unikernels. Michael worked for many years as a researcher, developer and solution architect for HP/HPE mainly in the Telecom sector. In Grenoble he runs the Cloud Native, Docker and Python MeetUp groups.
Originally from Manchester, UK, he moved to France in 1992 a great year for free movement – now as a Brexit refugee he still gets his dose of 70’s British music and Monty Python but misses a good Fish & Chips.
Michael, when we asked about his motivation to join ITGilde:
“I first met with Sander at KubeCon Europe and was delighted to deliver my first Kubernetes training for ITGilde just one month later – no waiting around with the Dutch – that’s nice!
I’ve really appreciated my interactions with ITGilde members who have been very open and keen to collaborate through initiatives such as the ITGurus or just sharing of materials.
Thankfully I’ve had the opportunity to meet members in Amstelveen before this crazy lockdown became a fashion!
Having delivered many trainings now for ITGilde, I’m really pleased to become a member as more business and networking opportunities present themselves with a focus on Open Source technologies. I prefer to invest in Open Source technologies because those skills can be reused more widely and because those are the technologies that I most want to succeed in the marketplace.“
Welcome Michael, we are proud to have you in our community.
